Ah, back on the island

I went to South Africa, Cape Town to be precise, for three weeks holiday, haven't been back there in 4.5 years!!

A lot has changed, and quite honestly, I am really glad to be back on the island.. Will post a huge thing later on my trip and post pictures of my friends and stuff...

Our new (secondhand) car!

I have just got our new (secondhand) car. For those of you out there who are into cars she is a year 2000 Honda HR-V LEV with a 1.6 Petrol engine, the non-vtec one. With a 5 speed manual gearbox, full executive interior but non leather (thank goodness for that). Dual airnags, ABS and EBD. She has reclinable rear seats and an ENORMOUS boot. She has only done 90,000Km. Which if anyone knows cars means that this Honda has basically only just run in. I am not used to such a powerful car anymore, coming from driving a 1.2 Chevrolet (Daewoo) Aveo to a 1.6 Honda is like going from a Cessna to a Mirage F1!!! Anyway, she is a beaut and I really love this car... Nuff said, here are the pics....

I took this panoramic from a hunting lodge (chasse) which is on the way to the south of the island last weekend. The place is called Madame Laurent. The panoramic image is made up of 10 (ten) individual photo's. You can see the building I was standing in front of on the far left and right of the picture.... It really is a beautiful country we live in, I only wish the locals would notice....

Bugger seems like uploading any pics using any system today is a no go, is this part of the maintenance that I have seen about??

First new post for ages...

Well, I think that I will finally start trying to use my blog, what for, I don't really know, perhaps to promote Linux and OpenSource on the tiny island where I live and work, or, perhaps, just to share the nightmare of having to do support for windows, and all that it entails....
