Is the pot worrying about the kettle?

I must say, listening to the news and hearing Microsoft getting all huffed up about google dominating the search engine world, makes me really laugh out loud.

We will ignore the fact that Microsoft's MSN search engine is possibly the worst search engine on the net today, but they feel that they are losing their grip on the computing world.

Word is out that googles servers are run on Llinux, not one mirosoft server in their thousands of servers at Googleplex. Also Google has released it's own online Office app, using open standards based files... oh crap MS, another real competitor in the Office market, how are you going to deal with it. Also the fact that google is slowly releasing all of it's apps for Linux to not just Windows, bugger, a nother kick in the groin to Micorosft from Google..

This is seriuosly a case of the pot calling the kettle black.. Ironic isn't it, the convicted monopolist is crying louder than anyone becasue someone is starting to kick their ass.

I say, good luck to Google, at leaqst make Bill and co sweat a little at night.

Google, one request, push faster on your releases of Picasa for Linux, Google earth is awesome, but we also want Sketchup on Linux.

My trip to CT

I took my first holiday to CT in avery, very long time.

Lots has changed, with the City, how much more it has grown is incredible, with my family and friends,

Basically, I am going to add some photo's of my trip here, places I wne to, the people I saw.

Great trip, but quite expensive. Especially things like, mobile phines and mobile phone calls, food (which was a surprise), and commodities.

Anyway, here a re pics from my trip.

Later

Mauritius from the air

Aah, the beautiful and unique Table Mountain, a wonderful sight after so many years away.

My best friend Jacques and his "daughter", Kiara

Jacques and Gillian, two of the nicest people in the world. Gill also keeps him inline better than anyone I have ever met! ;)

The little blond chap next to the lady in blue (his mom) is James, his mom is Carla.
Carla and I have been friends for years. Her husband, Mike, was my friend before Carla was, I was there when they met. They decided to catch up and overtake and Ariane and I in one move. By getting married after us and sprouting a little one before us!

James and his dad, Mike. Him and I go way back...

Been a long time since I last posted

Since I lasted posted I have been on a trip to Cape Town, Vista was alunched, and OpenSuse 10.2 was launched (even better)

So a short thatnk you to Bill Gates for releasing this pile of rubbish and lockin ware called Vista on the world, as now people will either stick the version of Windows they are running, move to Loinux, or move to mac...

So Mr Gates, it seems like you have lost your grip on reality, and on your monopoly of software...

So good luck...

My next post will be one about my trip to CT...
